Das Zentrum goes to German Film Festival

Enjoy watching a German movie with friends! Join us for a pre-movie chat at the German Film Festival on 11 May 2025 for a Sunday morning screening of "The Door-to-Door Bookstore" on 11 May.

"The Door to Door Bookstore" is a German Comedy, Drama, and a family film for all ages.

Registration is free - and will include a small German movie treat!

Kaffeeklatsch at Das Zentrum

Join us for Kaffee und Kuchen (coffee and cake) and a nice chat at Das Zentrum this Saturday, 26th of April, at 1pm!

We hope to make this a regular event for German language speakers to enjoy learning or speaking German in a relaxed atmosphere.

Kaffee, Tee und Kuchen (coffee/tea and cake) provided - please register so we know how much we need to cater for. A gold coin donation would be appreciated.

The library will be open at the same time, so this will be a great chance to borrow one of our many German books!

Library Open Wed & Thur afternoons

We have a great library that is worth visiting! We stock a large range of German language books, DVDs and current subscriptions to German magazines such as Brigitte, Der Stern and Der Spiegel.

Members can borrow for free! This is the best public collection of German books in Canberra, so make the most of it!

We also have a shelf that is stocked with books that are free to take, so it's worth dropping in!

Library Opening Times are Wednesday and Thursday afternoons from 3:30-5:30 PM.

Please note that the library is staffed by volunteers and while we do our best to be open on those times, we can't always garantuee that a volunteer is available. If you are visiting from further away, please contact us first to confirm that we are open!
